What does kinda suck though is that, somewhere in there, I had a personal Mastodon instance that I accidentally nuked. So all those toots from 2016 to 2018 are lost to the wind, so to speak
@andypiper Sure! It's been kind of a dormant project I keep meaning to get back to, but it does some things already? I guess if folks found it handy, I might locate motivation to poke at it again

@abetterjulie I liked both Gibson & Sterling back when that book first came out - but I kinda felt like it ended up being the worst of both of them?

Ughhh, just discovered that my git-based Obsidian backup scheme shat the bed about 5 months ago after a power failure and has been silently just neglecting to do the needful since then.
Apparently a power failure can corrupt a git repo in mid-operation? And my script wasn't raising the subsequent errors? :sadness:
Luckily, no data loss and the past 5 months is now backed up.
Also, since I'm a somewhat redundant nerd, my Obsidian files also get periodically backed up to a Backblaze bucket separately from the git thing. So, not really in danger there. The git stuff is mainly for history & change tracking
But, that backup has gotten more important since I've been doing handwritten journal entries on an e-ink tablet and the PDFs get dumped into a directory in my Obsidian vault too.
I would have really, really hated losing like 900 pages of handwriting. Not that it's all super-precious stuff, but navel gazing adds up at about 3 pages per day

This seems really pretty nifty: Prusa will offer an upgrade kit to transform a MK4s into their new Core One machine. Guessing I will very probably shell out for that sometime next year
