@agnes Nah, that's comparable for a high-end luxury gas cooktop like from Viking. We got an induction cooktop from GE for closer to 1/4 of that cost, and it works great so far
@agnes That said, the battery feature of that cooktop seems neat? I think I read about that sort of thing - easier to install, doesn't need higher voltage appliance wiring, charges up in off-hours, works for awhile in a power outage. Not sure it's worth the price yet, though? 🤷

I've been puttering around with something similar myself, but I'm quite a ways from even thinking about inviting other folks to use it.
Personally, I really want to see the rise of a bunch of services that do this sort of link gathering across networks for all the same reasons you mention in your blog post!
@cwebber An analogy I've used with some folks is to imagine blogs you can only read through Google Reader. And if Google Reader shuts down, you can't read those blogs any more. But that'll never happen right?

When I hear stuff like that, it just makes me wonder what news folks get wrong / confused / conflated in lots of other fields I don't know much about
Like yeah yeah whatever tomato / tomato, who cares about this computer stuff, it's all complicated whatever
But it's like confusing hybrids for highways and just sloppy
