I think one of the worst things about ads on YouTube & Twitch is they're so fuckin' rude.
No transition at all, just a mid-sentence interruption abruptly into some bullshit. How is this at all worth buying as ad time? Sets me immediately into disfavor toward the advertiser.
And, like, often the ads kick in when I've barely gotten a sense for what the video or stream creator is doing. Maybe I'm flipping between streams and they just kick me into a jarring jumpscare of arbitrary volume, tone, and content

Just finished re-reading Neuromancer. Man that's weirdly cozy reading now - and I almost forgot how much other efforts like Cyberpunk 2077 lifted from it with barely an effort at filing off the serial numbers
I think I originally read Neuromancer in junior high, then again in college, and then again about 10 years ago. Weird to think what references it took me this long to understand at all

A meal I started preparing for Catsby every night this year: wet food topped with churu treat topped with liquid medication.
Last winter, he stopped eating normally and lost a ton of weight. The vet prescribed some meds. He wouldn’t take them just as-is, but he’d lap them right up when mixed with churu.
He started eating more and put on weight. I wanted him to eat even more, so i gave him his beloved wet food under the medicated churu.
So now, unless I have this exact meal prepared every night by 9pm, Catsby registers many complaints.
What’s worse is that his lil bro Cosmo has caught on and expects a similar meal, because they eat together…
