Ah crap, started reading a book on my kindle that I thought came from the library but instead I bought it outright. Oh well, not like I hate having, like, you know, paid for a book.
Apropos of that, I just tore through The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune and then moved right on to Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Rather saccharine, possibly problematic. Probably worth gobbling down and not thinking too hard about
I will say that finding time to hit the exercise bike every morning with a book in my hand has done wonders for both my fitness regimen and reading habit
Like, year before last, I wasn't really exercising and hadn't finished a book in a long time.
Last year, I started riding the bike for 30 min every morning. By summer, I realized I didn't just need to stare off listening to a podcast, I could read a book. After that I started finishing about a novel a week.
Of course, a problem with this kind of "lifehack" is that it's not universal and so much of what's worked for other folks hasn't worked for me and vice versa 🙃
@billseitz I did manage to read fiction successfully for awhile on an elliptical, years & years ago. A little harder since my head was moving around a lot more and I wasn't holding the book / e-reader. Especially hard with a paperback, though I tried using a binder clip to keep the pages open
I just described the process of having a discussion with someone who's leaning on an LLM the whole time as wrestling with oatmeal. Like, not wrestling with a person in oatmeal, but trying to get oatmeal itself pinned down.
