chatgpt

So I've been playing with ChatGPT today to help me work through more handwriting recognition tinkering.

(I know I know, but it's actually kind of working and helping like a search engine that writes mostly working code)

I keep asking it to make tweaks to this hunk of code. I think it's getting tired of working with me as a client, y'all. It keeps using titles like this for the code samples:

🚀 Improved Line Detection Algorithm

🚀 Fix: Dynamically Scale Thresholds Based on Image Size

🚀 Improved Version:

🚀 Fully Refined Version

🚀 Ultimate Y-Segmentation Algorithm Using Histogram Peaks

🔧 Final Code: Touching Boxes Without Overlap

🔧 Final, Fully Optimized Version

🔧 Final Fix: Fully Adjust Y2 Based on Next Line's Y1

Watching this video on "Rescuing the Lost Code and Stereo Sound to Sinistar" and I kind of want to start a synthpunk band called Walsh Function Sound Machine

I'm in a Zoom meeting. I'm fidgety. There is a key puller on my desk. I pick it up and poke at my keyboard and pull a keycap. That unmutes me.

Moments later, a cat jumps on me. I say "ah fuck". Someone in the meeting says "what's up, les?" 💀

I just read the phrase "Juicero's insanely overengineered colostomy bag squeezer" and lost a little bit of time in contiguous consciousness like I'd been borrowed by aliens

And FWIW, I saw this phrase in the comments on this YouTube video on the Revo, the worst e-bike ever

@thegibson aww dang, that's pretty great

@djsundog Huh, I don't think I've ever seen a sit/stand l-shaped desk before 🤔

@astronomerritt I've been running Linux on my gaming PC exclusively for nearly a year now? Usually I've swapped back to Windows by now after one or two deal breaking things didn't work. Not this time.

Feels like it might just unexpectedly have finally been the Year of Linux on the Desktop - for me at least?

A weird thing about computers these days: I want an upgraded GPU both to make Warframe look better and to recognize my handwriting faster.

A thing I never expected: Reorganizing my t-shirt and pants drawers this weekend actually brought me some joy & serenity?

Like, I can fit more into the space and I can see all of it. The micro-stress of finding stuff to wear and putting it away after laundry was accumulating more than I thought. Thanks Marie Kondo.

Now I'm pondering sock drawer organizers. What has happened to me?

I guess I could make myself feel better by saying I enacted a better bin-packing algorithm. And not just that I'm an anxious old nerd with a touch of the 'tism.

Hmm. I don't think the bin-packing notion negates the other notion at all. :thinkhappy:

Websites I pay for, I beg of thee: actually remember who I am and that I paid for you

Like, the least you can do, dear paid-for website, is spare me from all your garbage ass growth hack strategies because I have already paid
