Playing Atomfall and, you know, it never occurred to me that "gaol" might be pronounced like "jail" 😅

I wonder how much business travel and how many company all-hands plans are being cancelled right now thanks to our glorious leader?

I've heard of at least 2 major events cancelled now, I'd imagine there are a lot more. Kind of hard to get together for all that synergy when being snatched at the border and detained in a cell for weeks is a feasible danger.

I kind dropped out of interest in game consoles since the Xbox 360. Before that, I bought all of 'em. After that, it's just been PC gaming and a few emulation handhelds.

The one exception was the Switch. Love that little thing. So, it's probably no surprise that I'm pretty jazzed about the Switch 2. That thing looks neat!

Oh and also I want a Switch 2 so I finally feel free to jailbreak and hack around with my Switch 1 offline 😅

One downside of having switched over to Bazzite Linux on my gaming PC is that my Game Pass subscription is only good for cloud gaming. (I'd cancel, but I prepaid for a couple years at a discount until this October)

But, that said, I played about 3 hours of Atomfall last night via streaming and it was entirely acceptable. I've done that with a few games and been rather pleased.

@a2_4am Yeah, I did that for my Wii and my 3DS and it turned them into totally new machines

@danhon I mean, I did replace VBScript with JScript in ASP for a project many many many years ago. My team was really mad at me, but I thought it was neat

Though I will say this new Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card idea looks like all the worst parts of both digital and physical game sales.

Like, the game isn't delivered on the card, you have to download it. But, once downloaded, the game can't be played without the card, you have to make sure the card is slotted in

I can just see the youtube hackers now, replacing the guts of some random Game-Key Card game with a data board containing the game like it should have in the first place

@bitofabother That is a good question. I'd assume "no" if only because I assume the worst, but maybe that does actually end up being a benefit(ish)

I hate it when they literally don't make it like they used to. As in, like, the way they make it now doesn't work with the way they used to make it.
