Y'know, bunny digestive systems are dumb.
Pulled an all-nighter with my wife trying to get one of our bunnies to eat. Turns out sometimes they just decide to stop eating. And then their digestive system stops digesting and fills up with gas. And then they keel over fast, like sometimes in a matter of hours.
That bunny is now at the emergency vet and we are tired. Signs are hopeful, but he's not out of the woods yet.
Our current pair of bunnies, Lord Butterscotch (the patient) and Lady Buttercream (his patient wife) are approximately 10 years old. We're fuzzy on the timeline.
They've done very very well for bunnies, came along with us through several house and cross-country moves. We're hoping they do very well for awhile yet.
@rhosyn They're very neat critters! But sometimes you have to cuddle one up and force liquid food paste down their gullet with a syringe along with Gas-X Infant Drops (simethicone)
@andrewt This is why Mastodon has the collective DDoS orbital death laser, because every instance does this individually on the server when a link rolls in. Would be nice if there were a happy medium for this

Ooh, neato: I had an idea for reviving the creative web coding thing for which I get a bit of enthusiasm every few years.
This time, I'm playing with portals-- er, I mean Web Components
What's really neat (to me) is that I took a web sketch from a few years ago, reshuffled all the code into a web component. Published that to GitHub Pages and now I can use it in other places. Like, in blog posts and suchlike
The other thing I'm trying is splitting the difference on build / no-build: The external dependencies get bundled up into shared reusable modules with code splitting for cache-friendliness. The rest of my code is ES modules loaded straight up by the browser.
If, on some inevitable day, the build tools fail, I should just be able to take a snapshot of the last good bundles and keep trucking on

Positive bunny news: Lord Butterscotch's body temperature is up - a good thing, since it had fallen precipitously and he's been in an incubator since last night
And though he hasn't eaten anything voluntarily yet, he's getting fluids and food and meds administered. An xray shows that things are moving in his gut, which hopefully means he's headed in a mend-ward direction.
Word is he's staying one more night and hopefully discharged tomorrow morning.
