So, I'm starting to look into getting a doorbell camera that works with Home Assistant. I've seen a few recommendations for PoE widgets.

That seems troublesome, unless I'm careful to stick it on its own VLAN / DMZ / whatever? Like I'm imagining someone could walk up at 4am, unhook it, plug in a laptop, and have fun on my network?

I do have a PoE wifi extender antenna mounted on the house in the backyard, but that at least needs a ladder to get at after getting through a gate

So yeah, I guess if you find my house and you want to get a really good connection to all my warez and my Plex server, bring a ladder and don't play the Mission Impossible theme too loud

@kajord I guess I'm not *too* too worried about that? But, I do live in a city and weird crap happens (also why I want the camera 😅)
