@mathowie If they did that, I'd still be talking about it for the rest of the year

Clair Obscur spoiler, Act I

Holy crap the end of Act I of Clair Obscur was the most HELL YEAH to HOLY SHIT OH NO story swing in a 5 minute period

Okay, so I broke down and bought Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Steam because a) I really like it b) Steam likes linux and c) I found a tangly way to liberate my save game from Game Pass cloud streaming:

I have one last Windows machine in the house. It’ll install Game Pass games locally, albeit playing terribly. But, Xbox Play Anywhere means cloud games sync to PC - so that gets the save data to my laptop drive.

Then, I install the game again under Steam. I found a guide for porting the save file over from Game Pass install to Steam install. Crossing fingers this works and it, in turn, gets synced to Steam’s cloud for me to play on my real gaming PC

I realize this sounds like the plot to a dork heist. And is, but that’s my kind of shit

Update: hahah it totally worked

Like, if the plot of a video game makes me weepy, that means I like it right?

Heard Beau on the CORE podcast describe DOOM: The Dark Ages as basically a long episode of He-Man. When he started naming off all the corresponding characters, I about lost it

Trying to decide: Is it a Tron: Legacy or a DOOM Eternal soundtrack kind of heads-down day?

I think I'm going with DOOM

I think some of the things about Mick Gordon's DOOM soundtracks that I miss with the generic metal in The Dark Ages is that he managed to infuse not only creepy electronic nonsense but also some horror movie soundtrack nods.

But the funny thing about the game is *you're* the terror, so the horror soundtrack is for the demons. Dark Ages is just generic action, Mick Gordon is "you are the monster"

Since I'm trying to blog all the things lately, I blogged about transplanting my game save too:
