A #cat mystery solved? Catsby has been puking almost every day, which is worrying. Also some cat has been mauling one roll of toilet paper. Today I caught Catsby in the act of eating it?? Hoping that's the explanation. (Also, weird, bud.)
Made a big batch of Autism Chow (*) for the next week or two of lunches. Gonna freeze half
(*) red lentil stew with carrot, celery, onion, tomatoes, garlic, and a random heap of spices that change every time I make it in the instant pot
I wish i could teleport this recipe and an instant pot to 20-something me. It's literally almost video game cooking. Chop all the stuff into roughly same-sized dice pieces, dump into pot with lentils and water and random spices. Also can of diced tomatoes. Set for 25 min. Push button. Come back when I remember, and there is chow.
@giflian yeah, instant pot has been so good for so many quick dumb recipes. Also that i can forget i was cooking
When i was 20-something, i ate a lot of burgers from the Wendy's next to my apartment. But I didn't really want burgers, i just wanted lazy non-objectionable chow to eat while i did other interesting things
@Truck you can definitely find a million recipes with actual measurements and spices, but it's pretty easy to mess with and still get something entirely edible, tasty even

@jotaro Once you find one version of the recipe that works for ya, it's one of those things where you can just mess with one variable for each batch and have a bunch of neat chow made in bulk!
Like, this is actually a pretty good version of what I do - only I ignore the cooking instructions and just dump it into the instant pot. Sometimes, if I'm ambitious, I might use the "saute" function for the veggies before adding lentils and liquid

@kusuriya Ugh, I wish late 20s me had discovered crockpots. I was like "no time cook, burger time" and that's when I started finding pants & belts stopped fitting

@jotaro Yeah, something like this red lentil stew isn't as fun, but it is filling and nice to have a non-thinky food sitting around. And then do other fun stuff while eating it
