Still very very much a work in progress, but I'm getting rather pleased with how the default theme is working out for my feedspool RSS reader.
Thinking I might try throwing together a blog post about it today, it's come a long way in just a week
Also, even though this thing builds as a standalone go CLI tool, I built a Docker image for it. That makes it easy to just plonk onto one of my servers and it comes with a built-in cron job to refresh feeds every 30 min and re-render the static site.
I also dumped some time into fussing with github actions to build release binaries and push Docker images to Hub. And I stuck watchtower on my home server.
So, I just commit changes to the project, and a little while later my home server pulls down the updated docker image.
It's like living in The Future!
This is really basic stuff, but it's way more than I usually do for a side project I'm bound to abandon in 9 days or so
Every now and then I see a job that I'm like "holy shit I'd love to do that" and then see that it pays half my current salary.
I could do it if I won the Powerball and paid off my mortgage, I guess? Too bad I'm basically allergic to gambling and buying lottery tickets.

For some reason my brain woke up this morning with a big urge to play nettrek again.
I haven't played it in probably 20 years, I was never very good, and mostly only played it on computers that also weren't very good.
But dang it was a cool game to watch when folks knew what they were doing
@mathowie I'm not any kind of super fitness self-tracker, but the current state of things has me really considering just bailing out to a Google Sheet for the bits I've been trying to track
@borup Yeah, there were some nice color X terminals at my college back then where some folks got into some heated games.
I seem to remember there was a client for Amiga where I tried playing over dial-up internet, with terrible results 😅
After I graduated, I tried playing on a PC for awhile, which was better but I still was awful at it
So, because my Commodore Amiga 1200 power supply was making crackling noises and started smelling like fish the last time I tried turning it on, I ordered a new PSU from c64psu.com last week.
It just got here and it works great! Doesn't seem to have gotten caught up in any customs nonsense, which I expect will be a worry for any hobby stuff I try to order for the next few years 😅
But this means I'm probably going to try BBSing from my Amiga again, maybe get a sudden fixation with rebuilding a Workbench install on a CF card, start shopping for unnecessary modern expansion widgets
@davew Yay! Also, one of the things I aim to do with it at some point is borrow your idea of using published OPML files as curated collections of feeds.
Point the tool at an OPML URL, it builds a SQLite database of feeds from that, and spits out a website with customizable templates.
@rckenned I get more of a thrill out of a soft taco from Taco Bell for that money, though

Oh man, I forgot about SID PLAYER. This was a huge part of my Jr. High soundtrack and also how I learned a bunch of these songs (since forgotten) on piano and keyboard
The July issue of the recently-relaunched Compute!'s Gazette has an article about SID PLAYER and it's author Craig Chamberlain and it dragged me back to when I had a half-dozen floppies of tunes that had found their way from Q-Link down to dial-up BBSes and then into my bedroom
But, like, I had a Casiotone keyboard and I would sit there at the C64 with SID PLAYER going in slow mode and I'd doggedly try to hit the same keys as I saw on the screen until the song started making sense and I started memorizing the sequence
Eventually, I got a copy of Soundmonitor by Chris Huelsbeck on an unmarked floppy in a box of pirated crap from Europe and I started making some tunes of my own.
I probably have them around here somewhere, also on an unmarked floppy, but it's also likely that it's all bit rotted by now
