@astronomerritt I love tricksy birds, especially when they're corvids

TIL that Earth is the only planet we know of that has fire? Like, not just glowy and hot phenomena but burning actual flames
@enot Oh, is that like self-hosted github actions? been meaning to check out forgejo
Homeowner adulting woe of the evening: I dumped the recycling into the compost bin. And it was almost all wet cat food cans, because a little newbie to the house doesn't understand dry food
@xahteiwi A follow up question might be: Are your daily meetings actually standups or just 45-90 minute long meetings because no one remembers what a standup was supposed to be?
@captainarcee Oh heck yeah, I wanted to be Doc when I grew up
@aesthr I once dropped a 512GB microSD card between the cracks in my wood floor and haven't been able to get it back
@eoinoneill Haha, I wanted to make exactly these two replies 😅 And I can all but guarantee that the folks developing LLMs will use that wikipedia page as a punch list for refining the next iteration of the model away from those easy tells @girlonthenet
@captainarcee Dang it, and now I have "no guts no glory" stuck in my head
That thing where I should go to bed, but I'm not done having decision paralysis about what I should spend my time on tonight
@captainarcee That would indeed be the best viewing experience!
@recursive I don't mind the sun sometimes, the images it shows
@rasterweb I felt unexpectedly accomplished the first time I brought home like a car-trunk-worth of groceries on my bike. Filled the panniers, the back rack, and a front rack. 💪
Then, the next week, I overdid it by hauling home like 9 gallons of house paint. I made it, barely, but ended up with a tire blowout just as I got home 😅 But, I guess that's part of the calibration process
So about a month later, Miss Biscuits is settling in nicely as her own brand of weirdo in our house. She is disconcertingly a nibbler / biter, though. I don't think we'll be able to coax her out of that #cats
@rasterweb You might be okay with that... I think my mistake was trying to shove a whole 5 gallon bucket of paint in the front rack
Like, she doesn't bite maliciously. She's just kind of lick, lick, lick, teeth hug, lick, lick. It's been most unexpected when she gets in my face and licks my nose in the middle of the night, lightly bites, and then tries to lay down and shrimp directly on my face
@kara This is why I like working from home. I can hear the howitzers firing over the river, but I'm just used to them now
@selectric the sun is a deadly laser
@davidcelis I'm 88% sure I agree
@benbrown Outside is just about my favorite Bowie album, but it seems like no one's heard of it! But then I'm a sucker for concept albums
@jalefkowit Holy crow, have they the brainworms?
@octothorpe We hates it! And weirdly, linux has gotten steadily better? (IMO)
Also I've been using CPAP for close to 25 years. I'd say my "journey" is rather well underway.
Along with this, it looks like they added the ability to control the CPAP settings from an app on my phone.
It only works over very limited bluetooth range - i.e. arms reach from the same controls that exist on the machine itself anyway.
@calcifer Well, he has called it the "winter white house" in the past
@bnys Even just at 6'1" it sucks in PDX, all the short people clear out the low hanging webs but I feel like I have to walk with my arms out like Frankenstein or wave a stick around at all times
@ben IMO, I think the niche for AP is in building archipelagos where not everyone needs to talk to or find everyone.
But some folks don't jibe with that and they really want a place where everyone's all in the same hottub - ATproto does that, probably as best can be done without just reinventing AOL.
@selectric Uhhhgg that is such a geocities vibe and not in a nice way
