@bitprophet Yeah, I think my problem is when I got this thing I was like "yay, it works really well as a NAS and I'm tired of things that do more stuff" and then I was like "but what if it did more stuff" 😅
Oh hey! I got a debian 13 VM running on my Synology NAS. It only took the extremely intuitive step of changing the video card setting from "vmvga" to "vga", which I didn't at all try at random.
@annika Yup, I think that matches my experience too. Also I think linux-based NASes have gotten a lot better in the past pile of years, so 🤷♂️
@Ashedryden IMO, if you can swing an ultrawide, I think it's worth it. I have a Dell U3423WE 34" ultrawide and it's just so nice to be able to stick between 2 & 4 windows side-by-side or split my editor up into 4-5 columns. I did also keep a 27" monitor off to the side for other stuff.
(i think maybe I just have a ludicrous amount of screen now)

Because I want to make a bunch of computers do a bunch of things, I'm learning me a Kubernetes and an Argo Workflows. I think I might be on the right track
