Aw, balls: I just got my turn on a library e-book loan, but I picked the wrong DRM format and can't get it into my Kindle. Now I have to return it and get back in line behind a few dozen other folks. Ugh.
You know, it's almost like they've made this library e-book system so complicated that you'll just give up and buy a copy in a store somewhere :thinknyan:
@jplebreton I feel like there's a critical mass / tipping point possible here. Like, a lot of folks go "ew, linux" as a knee jerk reaction. But, many Linux distros are unexpectedly solid and good these days. Especially the gaming-oriented distros. I'd think if enough folks give them a try and find they're not gross - i.e. versus windows - something weird could happen.
@clarity FWIW, I eased into this by plonking a second drive into my PC and installed Bazzite Linux on that. Didn't touch the original drive at all, for safer retreat back to Windows.
IIRC, Bazzite shares/borrows a lot of components and intent from Steam OS. It's worked out really well. It's been almost 2 years and now I'm looking at wiping that windows drive for more storage @jplebreton

@discatte I usually check out for Kindle, because I have one and the flow works, despite it being evil all the way down.
But this time I accidentally clicked "ePub" - which I thought, you know, might be a plain old ePub? No, turns out it was a weird digital key for an Adobe service to get a one-time license to a DRM'd thing in an ePub shell. Can't get that onto my Kindle and then I somehow botched the authorization flow anyway. So :blobshrug:

The funny thing is that I *do* have a big toe with a nail that's permanently wrecked and gone weird, thanks to having dropped an entire bookshelf on it years ago. So, something like this toe capsule might help with nail maintenance?
