@bubbles If you're going to go after writing in the post-LLM world, it helps to know where the patterns came from so humans don't catch strays. For one, the word "delve" - LLMs didn't invent it, they picked it up from the folks who were contracted to help train them.

This blog post about BBS to Web to AI reminds me of how, back in 1993, before my best friend and I drove to Lollapalooza in Michigan, we stayed up all night dialing BBSes to download and PRINT pages and pages of TEXT FILES on a DOT MATRIX PRINTER so we'd have weird stuff to read and pass around.

Random FAQs, tracts from the Church of the SubGenius, Discordian stuff, instructions to make things we shouldn't, ASCII porn, dumb stories, and guides to the INTERNET.

My mom & dad were NOT HAPPY about the sound of a DOT MATRIX printer at 4am, let me tell you

@fahrni @bazbt3 Heh, I remember once in college I'd pulled an all-nighter to write a paper. The computer lab was closed but I had my printer with me. But my roommate was still asleep. So I covered it with a pillow and all my blankets and hoped it was quiet enough. It wasn't. :sadness:

@socketwench @Wrewdison FWIW, my favorite way to do this, when I was streaming, was build a web page and use the OBS browser plugin in a top layer - the background color of the web page is transparent

@TheIdOfAlan @socketwench @Wrewdison Yeah, like I tried to do a kind of "Edison Carter's camera from Max Headroom" thing with SVGs in my overlays youtube.com/watch?v=58ZNvWuMNp

@elmiko My father before me did that, and as I approach his age I can see the appeal 😅

@thraeryn I Love Boosters was amazing

@elmiko Man, those pesky loved-ones heh

@elmiko Yeah, I hear ya... there's a real low LD50 on AI toxicity
