@ansate @kf Hah, nice, I was wondering who the bands were! Honk news it is!
So I moved my gaming PC into the basement, finally. We got a Google set-top box for the TV. And I got this dorky-ass laptop shelf on top of a mic stand.
Both run Moonlight and the basement gaming PC runs Sunshine. So I can play streaming video games over the LAN from the couch on either my laptop screen or the TV, depending on whether we're watching a show. Performs surprisingly well
Also GeForce Now works pretty well on both TV & laptop. Still trying to decide if I want to keep paying for that, since my basement gaming PC is basically a private version of that. But, the GPU in that machine is 6 years old, so GeForce Now has that beat as long as the net connection works
This is also kind of a weird end-of-an-era, because I've had a living room gaming PC at the couch for over 13 years now

And the dorky-ass laptop shelf atop a mic stand replaces a dorky-ass DIY VESA-mount monitor atop a mic stand that I built many years ago https://blog.lmorchard.com/2017/01/09/diy-monitor-v12/#version-12---mic-stands--laser-cutters-ftw
But, these days, I'm finding it really cool to reduce the number of cables and crap I need to deal with in the living room. That, and game streaming over my own house network seems pretty cool.
@nelson so far, so good for me? I'm running Bazzite on the Sunshine server, though I suspect I might have permission-prompt issues if I reboot the machine that I'll have to go click through locally
Feeling optimistic after having had Minnaloushe out of cat jail for most of a week, thinking of retiring the cat jail gate to the attic for now. Also getting the litter box and food and water out of my office, which will be very nice
