@liztai FWIW, as someone with an old static site for a blog: all of these things (well nearly all) can be achieved with a static site.
However, many of them are a pain in the butt unless you like developing a static site more than writing essays :blobSmileSweating:
(and no one really seems to read my blog anymore, these days, so I think you've got something there)
Finally got around to watching this youtube video, holy crap: this mad lad live-coded a machine language SID music player in C64 BASIC DATA statements with a grid-based tracker reading from screen character RAM for live editing and persistence as REM statements in the same BASIC program. Oh and he wrote the machine language in straight decimal numeric opcodes, no assembler. :neocat_explode:
This is so many clever (ab)uses of C64 features. I just, like, my brain asplode. I understood everything he did, and was like "what? no way" at every step
@tankgrrl Right?!
When I put this video on in the background, I was like yeah yeah he's going to poke and peek the SID and we'll get a little bleepy bloopy. So I stopped paying attention while doing something else.
When I looked back up, there was a whole 3-voice grid note tracker going on, so I rewound to see how the hell he got there :blobsweats:
I suddenly desperately want this Astroprisma TTRPG for solo play

well, shit. not terribly surprised, but severely displeased
Got an impulse again to build a Fediverse Oracle bot kinda like the Internet Oracle (aka Usenet Oracle). I wonder if it could possibly be done such that it's not immediately overrun with "shitcock" by fuckwads?
