@catnip Yeah, before 2020, I'd get sick *at least* twice a year with the same nasty sinus infection. Then, covid lockdown, followed by a few years of not traveling at all - thankfully, working from home. And I didn't get sick *at all* during those years. Not even a sniffle.

Now work is asking me to travel about every other month. And, even masked up as much as I practically can (minus meals & some meetings), the sinus infections are starting again. :thinkspin:

mh-; whining; hotels literally stink

It also doesn't help that I'm a bundle of physical & psychological sensitivities. Working from home has allowed me to tailor my critter enclosure just-so. Travel throws that all into the bin.

Been talking to my therapist about whether it's possible to, like, look forward to trips? But, hotels offer acrid alien fragrances that irritate - clothes and CPAP equipment come home stinking. Routines are derailed. Jet lag is a fuck. People are exhausting. 😮‍💨

mh-; whining; hotels literally stink

Anyway, yeah, I'm sick and whining. But also annoyed and frankly a little ashamed that I can't seem to enjoy the Adventure of Travel and Getting Together like some? most? folks do.

mh-; whining; hotels literally stink

I guess the one non-whining thing here is that I have a ton of sympathy towards other folks with their own sensitivities & disabilities. It's exhausting getting plucked out of your critter enclosure, friendos!

@MattBinder brb, going to buy up every copy of Brain Age for the Nintendo DS and corner the market before the bros get there
