@socketwench We just watched Labyrinth as part of a little halloween movie marathon, but I think my wife didn't super appreciate it. But, I'm way more fond of fantasy & fairy tales than she is and the movie hit me at a particularly formative time as a kid. Happy whenever folks are talking about it :D

Today on Tiktok I heard someone mention there's an implied rhyme between "stomach is sick" and "touching his ..." in Mr. Brightside by The Killers for a joke and now I can't not hear it:

Now I'm falling asleep, and she's calling a cab /
While he's having a smoke, and she's taking a drag /
Now they're going to bed, and my stomach is sick /
And it's all in my head, but she's touching his... chest now

@socketwench Heh, yeah I was in Jr. High at the time. Watching it as an adult, we were both pretty done with the main character from the start and just kind of wanted to see more creatures. Maybe see her just take the Goblin King up on his offer

@dokas I did a whole workout and took a shower while on a long meeting where I didn't have to talk or show my face, a week or two ago. 😅

@lauren I made the mistake of leaving a heating pad on in our living room earlier this week and was bereft of cats overnight in bed. Tragedy

@jalefkowit dead dove?

As a dumb little update, i neither threw the PETG into the oven nor yet ordered a spool dryer. I just upturned a bag of desiccant into a cereal bin and left it overnight. Already a noticeable improvement, so i think drying out these spools is the right path

@benbrown Ohh, in a few years, these would make for some neat gel nail strips

Catsby keeps squirming in between my back and my chair to be squished & cozy and I hate having to get up and un-squish him

Like, this is a daily concern now, since it got chilly. He just discovered it this year, hasn't done this at all before in winters past

Dang it: Because I'm feeling lazy and I didn't want to write it myself, I've tried three different modules for generating RSS feeds in node. All three have produced invalid feeds with encoding errors in different places. This is nostalgia from 2005 that I didn't want.

But, for now, my bookmarks have a feed, even if slightly wonky.

I will probably fork one of those aforementioned modules in consternation in the coming weeks and try fixing it myself :blobtired:

I kinda want to take an LLM, fine tune it with the 2006-era book I wrote on RSS & Atom feeds, and just vaguely hand wave it in the direction of the code and order it to make all the needful fixes.

Hahah, oh shoot, I forgot about the Mastodon Orbital DDoS Laser. My dinky little server is suddenly attempting to respond to 1000 simultaneous requests for that RSS feed URL that I just posted. 😅

@thegibson The irony is that I have on my todo list for this project to add mastodon integration to post whenever I save a new bookmark 😅

@jordan Yeah, that one goofed up XML encoding of ampersands in URLs in a few spots like links to enclosures for images or audio files

@jordan This one looks like a newer fork of that one, but it seems to over-enthusiastically encode already-encoded ampersands in some places 😅
