Man I love this Bathe Alone album.

Like right on the edge of chill yet with energetic big feels through the whole thing. Massages my brain with all the right synths and vocals with an occasional guitar riff. And I think it's a one-woman effort by Bailey Crone?

She says she "aims to create songs you can lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling to" and that's about right.

@brianleroux Lately at work, whenever I try using native browser DOM APIs, I get ding'd in reviews for "using jquery"

@futurebird Last time I got a ride in a car without door handles, I felt like a total old, scrabbling at the smooth surface of the car to attempt entry

I hate instagram. Tried logging in, it said my password was incorrect. I try the forgot password flow, go to set the password to what's in my manager. I can't use that because it's my current password.

:chick_what:

This is like the 5th time this has happened and the 5th password change over the past few weeks. No idea why, it's not like machine elves changed the password in my manager.

I mean maybe they could have? I do try to keep up on all the recommended offerings and sacrifices

I suppose someone could be hacking my instagram? I feel bad if so, because there's nothing good there

Jiminy Cricket how is WordPress and photography matthew still a developing story?

At this point, I think folks should fork WordPress and gin up open sourced self-hostable replacements for all the support services just to not have to hear about it anymore

@skippy @socketwench I swear it's like this is either some strange marketing campaign or an odd way to beg for retirement

@yantor3d Yeah, I've been hanging onto every scrap of printer waste and failed prints with the notion that I might someday do something interesting with them. If not literally recycling back into filament, maybe melting into other forms or pressing into sheets to play with on a CNC machine

In a meeting where someone just said something to the effect of "lots of folks have time off in the next two weeks, maybe we can all use some of that time to think through project priorities for the next year"

And I'm like, man, my intent is to pare down what I'm thinking about to how many cookies I'm going to eat and whether I should get out of bed

Like, yeah, whatever, I'm reasonably unlikely to get into any real trouble for ignoring this directive, but I'm just really tired of having to push back on the hustle

I've also been on teams where folks kind of relish a sort of adversarial, push-pull continual struggle. But that's decidedly not my cup of tea.

I want to work hard yet sustainably with decent team consensus and support from leadership. I'd also like world peace. And cookies.

@wohali@octodon.social I, personally, am almost literally allergic to competition in general. Makes me feel like a space alien, some days.

@bitsplusatoms The cookies are also the only near certainty

I can't emphasize enough how much more I care about the near-future prospect of cookies than the velocity of the project right now.

@randomgeek @nomad "Well, bob, I wasn't thinking of you at all, but now you have a place in my thoughts adjacent to the guillotines"

@nomad I'm totally the one who'd look the gift horse in the mouth because someone has to take care of the dentistry and feeding

Also, Catsby's favorite place in the world is our bed. Whenever I walk out of my office during the day, like for coffee, he tries to lure me back there. He'll run ahead of me down the hall, hang a left into the bedroom, and purr at me from the bed.

I'm gonna eat cookies in bed with Catsby at some point over the next 2 weeks and no one's gonna stop me.

@mhoye Would love to fix the anxiety spigot, but that got prioritized as P6 and flung deep into the backlog abyss

@rawrmonstar @brianleroux Yeah, problem is that's what too much of web development is nowadays
