There've been times when I'll write out an explanation, along with some follow up questions.
A frequent response to that is "let's get on a call" - because I guess that's too many words? And too many words means things are heated?
And then on the call, I just read what I wrote out loud. And then they're like, "oh, I see what you mean. (semi-appropriate answer)".
