@maddiefuzz @cmdr_nova@mkultra.monster Me working at an AI startup

@maddiefuzz I don't work at an AI startup, but I work at a company that kinda wishes it were. So, you know, stones, glass houses, etc etc 😅 @cmdr_nova@mkultra.monster

@skinnylatte Wondering how many mentions of Brother this thread will attract

@wez I mean, if you play your cards right, that mosfet driver could briefly serve as part of the landscape lighting

TIL about the "Shoggoth with a smiley face" meme about AI 😅

@PetraOleum my mobo as I contemplate a GPU upgrade

@SnoopJ For years, I've convinced myself to hold off on modchipping my Switch until the Switch 2 came out. That's dangerously close now

@SnoopJ I jail broke my New Nintendo 3DS a couple years ago, mainly to back up all my e-shop stuff, save games, and dump the physical carts I have. Haven't regretted that at all, but I don't expect the Switch will go as easily

@adamshostack @deviantollam @alice It's not separate, it's a different account and a photo-centric UX on the same protocol network

@SnoopJ Yeah, I think that's the exact page I'm on.

I will probably also do something stupid like get a linux distro running on it so I can ssh into it once and then never again

You know, if Mark Zuckerberg was really so terrified of Chinese social media apps pushing out American social media apps, he might try building some that don't completely suck. Maybe push out an algorithm or two that aren't absolute trash. Maybe stop trying to make us socialize with vapid bots.

404media.co/a-tiktok-ban-is-a-

The big thing that TikTok did that Instagram has never done is, like, actually make me want to use it more

Also, a thing I love about this article from 404 Media is that the in-url slug reads something like "A TikTok Ban is a Gift To Meta and Instagram" - and then presumably later the published title was changed to "Donald Trump Has Mark Zuckerberg By the Balls"

The editorial policy over there at 404 Media is pretty great 👍

That thing where I get a promotional email promising a discount for a product but the discount is more than I'd pay for that product to begin with

Like, $175 off! (oh wait, it costs more than $175? gtfoh)

Just finished re-reading William Gibson's Count Zero and thinking about Josef Virek in his medical vat. The algorithms deployed by Meta seem about as human as that guy
