@Wrewdison @randomgeek I used to check daily news and work Slack just minutes after waking up. Made an intentional effort to put that off by an hour or two and it's made a huge difference

@rasterweb Not sure, it's apparently been a problem over the years with Apple's aluminum cases reacting with different folks' pH / oils / something mysterious. My poor PowerBook 12" G4 looked a lot like this before I decommissioned it

@rasterweb I haven't seen this happen with any Apple laptops of my own since then. But, I think I've stopped using them as much as laptops and tend to have them docked to use an external keyboard.

I want to say they were using titanium years before switching before aluminum? I have seen occasional reports of folks seeing pitting with more recent models, but it sounds more rare.

Cooked some red lentil stew with frozen stock made from last Thanksgiving's turkey I smoked on a charcoal grill. Holy crap. I am giving thanks to the turkey.

Also, I think I could basically survive indefinitely and happily on this lentil stew recipe I learned years & years ago.

It's just lentils, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, crushed tomatoes, and stock of some sort. Also some spices like basil & thyme and whatever I feel like at random.

Dice up the veggies, let them sizzle in olive oil for a little bit. Toss in spices and a lil salt, sizzle some more. Pour in stock & lentils, let boil until mush. Make a big batch, freeze some in mason jars. I'll have lunch for a couple weeks.

Oh, and with an instant pot, this lentil stew recipe turns practically into like video game cooking. Chop, dump, turn on the pot, go away and come back 30 min later and stew's done
