@kf hah, fwiw, I heard from the bike shop - and while I didn’t crack the chainring, I did apparently strip the spider connecting the chainring to the e-bike motor & crankshaft
An annoying thing:
I have a project using magnetic A+B tape - two rolls of rubbery self-adhesive tape that snap together magnetically. Stick some of roll A on one thing, some of roll B on a different thing, now those two things can magnet together. Great for window screens and such.
So, I ordered some rolls. They work great, but I used them all up. So, I ordered some more rolls of the same brand. Reordered the exact item.
Turns out the new rolls stick to each other just fine. They don't stick to the previous rolls at all. Seems like the magnetic poles are oriented differently or something.
Ughhhhh. Tempted to do something stupid like rip up half the old roll already adhered to the project and somehow mix & match rolls.
Been working with some LLM coding assistants. They're neither as absolutely useless nor as absolutely job-replacing as some folks claim. I don't think they're going away. But, sometimes they do really funny things.
Like, I just changed a bunch of code and told it to fix my broken tests. The solution it chose was to undo all my changes, rather than change the tests. :blobfacepalm:
But, I mean, that'll happen. And the tests did indeed pass. I just told it to try again and only change the tests. That turned out better.
