Update: Driver finally stopped in front of my house. Then crept forward and started down my block. My wife went out to wave them down and they kinda peeled out and booked it. I watched them zoom away on the little Doordash map. So, no Doordash for us tonight

Played around a bit with the "Bad Update" soft exploit on my old 2006-era Xbox 360. It worked after about 10 minutes, which I guess is lucky since it has to keep rolling the dice on a low-probability success. It only lasts until powered off.
Still, it was neat to see some homebrew stuff running on that old console and to back up some of my old crap.
That gets me re-interested in applying a more permanent hardware hack to either my old X360 "phat" or my newer slim console.
That lead me to reading about RGH3: It's a 2-wire soldered mod that repurposes one of the microcontrollers on the motherboard itself to perform as a mod chip.
I mean, there's a little more to it than that. But, seriously, the cheek - subverting some built-in hardware to go ahead and pwn the system.
If I understand correctly, the SMC firmware is reprogrammed to inject pulses to slow down the CPU at a very specific boot-up stage, and then reliably cause it to skip over a signature check to allow arbitrary unsigned code from the console owner.
