That said, I've only ever broken two phones. One was a Treo 600 that I had in a dorky belt pouch I was wearing when I walked into a wall. The other was a Samsung Galaxy S8 onto which I accidentally dropped a ceiling fan. I still have every other smart phone I ever bought, so I guess I have spares.

@CyberpunkLibrarian Yeah, I still have a stockpile of laptops and phones that I occasionally use for weird things. Maybe it's their time to shine

Maybe we'll get an America Phone that runs on AA batteries and/or a crank. You'll shoulder it like a 1980's boombox

It's that time of evening when I start shopping for an Apple IIe Platinum on eBay again

I mean, I'm not gonna buy one off eBay, but I like to look.

Also, I will say $80 games for Switch 2 makes a year's subscription to Dropout look a lot better

@robdaemon some days I honestly miss having a space job 🤔

@rgegriff I like a pokemon game where the critter can tell you to go screw yourself (but that might be more properly the shin megami tensei games from which persona spun off)

@earthshine If you haven't read them already, the Murderbot Diaries have a bit of this? At least, in the first book or two, where the Secunit main character constantly complains about all the dumb things human clients do

@alex Heh, they used to make & sell those in the USA back in the 60s @nekohayo

(edit: oh, but wait! I looked closer at the package and it says "U.S. Engineered & Produced in Japan" 🤔 )

@alex Eh, it's fine, plug a space heater into it too 😅
