Catsby is getting sub-q liquids, out of an abundance of hydration caution around some not-great kidney results he just got from the vet. Thankfully I'm doing it at home - and I've done it before, so I kinda know what I'm doing. But, I'm never super happy about stabbing my cat with an IV needle. But, he seems to be decently distracted with a Churu.

Heh, so apparently Duolingo decided that my request to delete my account (which takes 7 days to make sure I want to make the owl sad) was the perfect signal to start emailing me to try French lessons again after years of radio silence
@thegibson I'd be interested to see what model you end up having luck building. I googled up a handful of them and some are, like, intimidatingly detailed!
Considering building a set of workbenches for my shop, finally. And even though I know these are overkill - i.e. they're for building kit airplanes - I keep coming back to these EAA Chapter 1000 Standardized Work Tables.
I built a pair almost 7 years ago and kind of regret leaving them in another state.
I've looked at other workbench plans that call for pocket holes and fussy attention to keeping them square. But these EAA Chapter 1000 worktables are kind of near foolproof, just as long as you're careful about cutting things to the same consistent lengths
What I want to try with this new set of shop benches, though, is to hit up the ReBuilding Center here in Portland and see if I can cobble together all the wood I need from reclaimed and recycled stuff 🤔
The other thing I'm musing over is whether I can fit all the materials into our Subaru Outback or if I'm better off renting a truck 🤔
(I have talked myself out of trying to ferry lumber home with my cargo e-bike, at least)
((but, if I had the right bike trailer, believe me I'd give it an inadvisable try 😅))
