Oh no: Minnaloushe has figured out how to breach cat jail. He jumped on top of my office door, then from there jumped through the gap at the top of the 5-foot-tall pet gate in my doorway. He's done it twice now and I saw him doing the jump math and butt wiggles again. Certainly not a dumb critter

Also, he removed these rubber nubbins from my laptop shelf

But he seems much more chill after lunch

@zwol Yeah, I think that's the general thing - most fancy programmable USB keyboards can send any USB HID events, including the buttons missing from the trackball. Still, that might be a lil *too* minimal of a pointing device even for my trackball-loving tastes :)

oh god why did i succumb to being nerdsniped into a thread about the oxford comma and ap style vs apa style? it got as far as me signing up for a free trial to the ap stylebook online to try to prove a point so pedantic that i want to self-defenestrate. should i tell my therapist about this?

@zwol Yeah, for that kind of thing in particular, I do have a trackball under my left hand (because I was wrecking my right wrist) and have occasionally assigned a less-painful key tap under the right hand for "drag". Some keyboards let you send a held-down key toggled with a tap
